Here it is. Chris Robertson of Linn-Mar and Bob Fontana of Cedar Rapids Kennedy are the division coaches of the year. Cedar Rapids Jefferson’s Jarrod Uthoff and TrayVonn Wright of Waterloo West were players of the year.
Striking how much better the Valley Division was this season than the Mississippi Division. Three MVC are at the state tournament next week, all from the Valley Division.

It’s not perfect, yet. The Class 4A second-ranked Lions (19-1) have one more Mississippi Valley Conference game remaining, Thursday night at home against Cedar Falls.
The Tigers are 15-4 and ranked 10th in 4A, so this will be a tough, tough game.
The last team to go through the MVC unbeaten was Iowa City West in 2001-02. That team lost to Waterloo East by a point in the state tournament semifinals and went on to get third place.

Josh had a great week scoring 43 points in a pair of Warrior wins including seven three-pointers as part of a 25-point effort in the win over Jefferson. The junior perimeter player is now tied for 3rd in the MVC in scoring at 16.7 ppg. He also averages 5.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.

Iowa City West and Cedar Rapids Prairie have won Mississippi Valley Conference division crowns a second straight year.
With Cedar Rapids Kennedy’s win over Waterloo West last night, the Trojans locked up the MVC Mississippi Division title. West is 26-1 overall and 6-0 in the MVC, ending conference competition tonight at Dubuque Hempstead against the Mustangs and Waterloo West. It’s the fourth straight title and 10th overall for West, which owns a 30-dual MVC win streak dating to 2006.
Prairie was the last MVC team to beat West. The Hawks are 17-2 …
