IOWA CITY — Iowa City West took care of business and the Trojans didn’t need to punch in for very long to handle it.
The top-ranked Trojans made quick work of Keokuk, crushing the Chiefs 57-18 in a Class 3A regional dual last night at West that lasted just 52 minutes.
It was the third win over Keokuk this season, and punched the Trojans’ ticket to the State Dual tournament Saturday at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids.
The Trojans did their job, but showed sluggishness in some cases, according to West …

DES MOINES — Cedar Rapids Prairie’s Josh Lambrecht and Cedar Rapids Jefferson’s Conner Herman have traveled similar paths, and that’s just not the road from Southwest Cedar Rapids to downtown Des Moines.
Herman and Lambrecht suffered disappointing district losses last year that postponed their state tournament debuts. Both used them as motivation and find themselves at the same destination.
Lambrecht and Herman each earned quarterfinal wins last night in the Iowa High School Athletic Association Class 3A state wrestling tournament at Wells Fargo Arena.

The Tigers are 15-4 and ranked 10th in 4A, so this will be a tough, tough game.
The last team to go through the MVC unbeaten was Iowa City West in 2001-02. That team lost to Waterloo East by a point in the state tournament semifinals and went on to get third place.
Linn-Mar joined the Mississippi Valley Conference in the 1986-87 school year, by the way. In …
