Drew Proctor and Scott Schlimmer surpassed the 100-win mark for the Tipton Tigers.
Proctor, ranked fifth at 130 pounds, reached the century plateau Jan. 14 with a pin over Camanche’s Jake Peterson, improving to 110-19 for his career. Proctor, a junior, won Midland’s John Byers Invitational last weekend and is 31-3 this year.
Schlimmer, a senior at 160, hit the milestone Jan. 19 with a pin over Iowa City Regina’s Travis Norard. Schlimmer is 23-7 with a career mark of 105-52.

Don Bosco remains on top with eight ranked wrestlers, including four top-ranked wrestlers and a fifth in the top two. East Buchanan is second with six in the rankings. Belle Plaine made a considerable drop, falling from fourth to eighth. The Plainesmen are led by top-ranked 103-pounder Zakk Buch and No. 3 Jack O’Brien at 125.

A thumbnail sketch on the Class 1A boys’ race at the state cross country meet Saturday at Lakeside Golf Course, Fort Dodge.
Time: 2:30 p.m.
Individual race: Start with Jamie Meek of Griswold, the 2008 runner-up. Meek easily captured the Greenfield district crown (by 23 seconds). Bill Spencer of Iowa Mennonite was seventh last year and took top honors at the Wapello district in 16:46. Dane McDonald of Conrad BCLUW was third last year but was beaten at the Marshalltown district by Dike-New Hartford’s Sloan Benninga.

STANWOOD — Members of North Cedar High School and the Stanwood community created a special event in memory of a special person.
A night road race will be held in honor of the late North Cedar student Ashley Himes, a multi-sport athlete who died from a brain tumor in April about a month before graduating.
The “Believe” 5K road race is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 9, following North Cedar’s homecoming football game against Tipton. The race is scheduled for 10 p.m. with registration at the City Park from 7 to 9:45 p.m. …
