Decorah senior Andrew Peter will look to defend his individual state title, and help lead the Vikings back to the Class 3A state meet. The Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association released its opening set of adjusted rankings on April 21. Reports appear to be spotty, meaning not all programs are represented. It does give you an idea of what some golfers are shooting from around the state. Since no course is the same, including differences in par and difficulty, the is an adjustment formula to calculate the rankings.

Dyersville Beckman’s Tony Naber became just the second Blazer to win a Wamac Conference title with a solid 7-1 victory over West Delaware’s P.C. McEnany in the 125-pound final Saturday at Benton Community in Van Horne.
Matt Heims won the 145-pound title in 2006 for Beckman.
Naber wasn’t seeded in the top three but advanced to the final when Western Dubuque’s Jim Gotto, ranked third in 3A, injury defaulted. Naber, the school record holder for wins in a season (37 in 2008-09) had a pin and major decision in the tournament while improving …
