<p>The 6-foot-3 post led Linn-Mar to a 26-0 record and the Class 4A state championship. She averaged 19.5 points, 12.8 rebounds and 5.1 blocks per game. She clicked for 20 points, 18 rebounds and six blocks in the Lions&#8217; 38-35 win over Des Moines East in the state final.</p>
<p>&#8220;I didn&#8217;t know I was going to get this,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I thought it was an award only for seniors. I was very surprised. I wasn&#8217;t expecting it at all.&#8221;</p>
<p>Former teammate Jaime Printy, now the Big Ten freshman of the year at Iowa, won the award in 2009.</p>
<p>Stokes is ranked 10th nationally by ESPN Hoopgurlz in the Class of 2011 and was a member of the 2009 USA Basketball Women&#8217;s 16U national team that won a gold medal last August.</p>
<p>She carries a 4.02 grade point average, has volunteered locally as a youth basketball coach and on behalf of SODA, a school organization dedicated to reminding students of the dangers associated with drugs and alcohol.</p>
