The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and Iowa State University announced Wednesday the girls’ state soccer tournament will be held in Ames, beginning in 2025. Eastern Iowa coaches are happy the tournament will remain on grass fields.

But Iowa baseball coach Rick Heller ultimately won the multi-sport recruiting war, and Morgan is coming off his best starting pitching performance of the season last weekend at Ohio State.

Iowa State University will host the Iowa high school girls’ state soccer tournament in 2025, 2026 and 2027, the school and the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union announced Wednesday. The agreement has extension options after the initial three-year agreement, according to a news release.
