Washington’s Snitker and Warriors Coach James earn top Metro honors

Cedar Rapids Washington quarterback Reid Snitker and Warriors head coach Paul James garnered attention and recognition for their efforts during the 2013 prep football season.

Snitker amassed more than 2,000 yards, throwing for 1,479 and rushing for 545, earning Metro Football Player of the Year honors. The Warriors finished 6-4 this season, claiming the Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division title, and James was named Metro Football Coach of the Year. James in his first year back at the helm, guiding the Warriors to a 58-48 record from 1995-2005 before becoming the Washington Athletics Director, a position he still holds.

Cedar Rapids Xavier led the Metro with five first-team members. Washington and Cedar Rapids Kennedy had four apiece.
