By Andrea Duarte, Postville sophomore
Last Thursday night, Postville hosted Turkey Valley in a Class 1A boys’ basketball district game.
The game was competitive right from the start.
Riley Brockway hit the first shot, giving the Pirates a 2-0 lead. Throughout the first half, the Pirates had beautiful passes and great steals. Even though Turkey Valley led, the Pirates never had their heads down.
The game had intense moments, from tripping on feet and falling to the ground to players having bloody noses on and off the court.
Postville led, 26-20, at halftime. Both teams gave their best in the second half, too.
The Postvillle crowd was very excited with the great plays and strategies the boys displayed.
All the hard work paid off for the Pirates, winning the game 53-28 . They on to play tonight, hosting the Blue Devils of West Central.
