Davenport Assumption and Mediapolis should battle it out for second and third. The two faced off in a district with Mediapolis winning some key head-to-head battles. Charles City and Creston should contend for a trophy as well.

Synopsis: Top-ranked Alburnett has ascended the ranks in Class 1A and now is a regular top-10 team. The Pirates have finished in the top 10 the last four years, including three third-place finishes. They want more and should get it. The Pirates have nine qualifiers with eight ranked. Coach Kane Thompson said it is most complete team at the school with a mix of balance and elite scorers. Alburnett should get its first title.

Woodbury Central has the ability to overcome Alburnett if things go its way. They have the numbers and strength. Eddyville-Blakesburg and Emmetsburg will be in the mix for trophies. In 1A it is quality over quantity, so teams can do a lot with a few top-level wrestlers.
