HIGH SCHOOL JOURNALISM: Western Dubuque on the road to state – again

EPWORTH – Western Dubuque boys’ basketball is off to a great start to the the 2012-13 season.

The Bobcats are 9-0 with 11 games left.

The team was upset in a double overtime thriller at year’s Class 3A state championship and has moved up to Class 4A this season.

Senior TJ Lake is leading the team with a 19.7 points per game average and 177 total points. Lake is shooting 73.7 percent from the free throw line and 50 percent  on all shots. Senior Brendan McCoy also has had a good year, averaging 13.7 points a game with 123 points total.

Look for Lake and McCoy to lead the team to the 4A state playoffs and a championship as the season goes on.
