MOUNT VERNON — Adelida Oberman scored 19 points as Northeast earned a share of the Big East Conference girls’ basketball lead with a 49-34 victory over Bellevue on Saturday at the Small Multi-Sport Center.
Northeast (8-2 overall, 6-1 Big East) joined Bellevue Marquette atop the league standings as the race approached the midpoint.
The Rebels built a 16-point lead late in the third quarter, then weathered a run by the Comets (7-3, 5-2), who got within 40-34 early in the fourth quarter.
Brenna Butler added 12 points for the winners.
Kelsey Ernst led Bellevue with 18 points and 15 rebounds.
