IOWA CITY — Ladarius Taylor scored 21 points and Andrew Hein added 20 as host City High (4-4) whipped Burlington, 63-54, in a boys’ basketball game Saturday afternoon.
Lonnie Chester dished out five assists and had nine steals for the Little Hawks.
Burlington led at halftime, 25-24, but City High outscored Burlington 23-13 in the decisive fourth quarter.
The Little Hawks forced 20 turnovers.
Xavier loses 2 at Assumption
DAVENPORT — Class 3A top-ranked Davenport Assumption, led by Kate Fennelly’s 22 points, downed Cedar Rapids Xavier, 51-36, in a girls’ basketball game Saturday.
Kayla Armstrong led Xavier (6-4) with eight points and McKenna Anderson added seven.
Assumption also won the boys’ game, 67-53. Trey Sampson led the Saints (5-3) with 16 points and Matt Nelson added 15 points.
