DECORAH – Holt Johansen rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns to lead top-ranked Class 3A Decorah to a 21-14 victory over Central DeWitt Friday night at Decorah.

The Vikings (12-0) will take on Williamsburg (11-1) in the state semifinals Thursday at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.

Decorah rushed for 252 yards.

Brett Johnson scored on an 11-yard pass from Jacob Kvale for the other Decorah score.

Central DeWitt trailed 21-0 in the fourth quarter before rallying for two touchdowns in the final 7 minutes, 38 seconds.

Jacob Feldpausch had a 48-yard run and Lucas Sheppard caught a 26-yard pass from Mitchell Green for the Sabers scores.

Decorah won despite committing a season-high three turnovers.

“We made a lot of mistakes tonight we haven’t made all season, and give Central DeWitt credit for forcing many of them,” Decorah Coach Bill Post said. “They’re a fine team. Fortunately, our defense stepped up when it mattered most.”
