DEWITT – Ryan Dudak, in his first game as a running back, scored two touchdowns and rushed for 181 yards as West Delaware whipped DeWitt Central, 28-7, Friday night in a prep football opener in DeWitt.
Dudak scored twice in the first half, first on a 70-yard run and later on a 19-yard run after Central had tied the game.
Brent Lammers and Jack Curley added one-yard touchdown runs for the Hawks in the second half.
West Delaware finished with 350 rushing yards, getting 154 on 15 carries from Timmy Tutton
MONTICELLO 25, ANAMOSA 0
Jacob Black rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 108 as the Panthers rolled to a win at home, reclaiming the Cowbell.
Black completed 10 of 15 passes and rushed 20 times, scoring on an 87-yard run on the first play of the game. Tanner Felton rushed for 123 yards on 16 carries, also scoring two touchdowns.
Connyr Lewis passed for 91 yards for Anamosa, including four for 47 to Kevin Schepanski.
