Former wrestler receives verdict in harassment incident

The ordeal surrounding former members of the Lisbon wrestling has come to a close.

Austin Edwards, 17, was found guilty of third-degree harassment and acquitted of assault in a non-jury trial last Thursday in Linn County District Court. He held down the 15-year-old and placed his exposed genitalia on the boy’s face in the wrestling room in late 2011, according to the criminal complaint. The incident led to the wrestling team cancelling competitions and resulted in some members being removed from the wrestling team.
