Cedar Rapids Xavier’s Lisa Olberding and Cedar Rapids Prairie’s Kerstin Flugum accomplished one of the rarest feats in golf.
The prep golfers scored holes-in-one the last week during varsity competition.
Xavier Athletics Director Mike Winker confirmed Monday that Olberding aced the No. 14 hole at Ellis Golf Course from about 100 yards, during Cedar Rapids Kennedy Invitational earlier in the day. The Saints won the team race as well, posting a 350 team score and topping Linn-Mar by seven.
Flugum aced the No. 16 hole at Airport National Golf Course from more than 80 yards last Thursday in the Prairie Invitational, according to Prairie Coach Erik Columbus. The Hawks matched Linn-Mar for the second-best score, finishing nine strokes back of team champion Newton.
