Race Car Driver
Emily is one of the top street stock car drivers in the area. She graduated from North Cedar a semester early to focus on her racing career. In the fall she raced at least 65 times in Davenport, Tipton, Maquoketa and East Moline, and finished in the Top 10 at three tracks in points and in the top 5 at two of them.
She had numerous wins this past season. She races against everyone in the street stock car division, no matter what – male, female, old, young. She is one of the top drivers at her level. She’s very dedicated, and will be racing all summer in pursuing her career.
She started racing when she was 13 in the hobby stock division where she won numerous times. She moved up to the street stock division in 2010.
In the fall she will attend NW Ohio University and pursue an associate’s degree in high performance motorsports to become a technician. Emily wants to someday open up her own business or take over for Gade race engines.
Track and Field
Jared is a junior for the Clipper track team. He currently has the fastest 400m dash time in the state, regardless of class, at 49.06 seconds, more than a second better than next fastest. He also runs the 200 where he has a Top 5 time at 22.05. He has a 100m dash time of 11 seconds flat so far this year is in the Top 10.
Last year he placed 5th in the 100, and 2nd in both the 400 and 200 at state.
Track and Field
Connor is a senior on the Spartan track and field team. He recently broke the school record in the shot put with a throw of 54 feet 6.75 inches. That throw currently ranks as number one in the entire state regardless of class. He also throws the discus and has a throw this year of 152 feet 5 inches. That currently ranks him 4th in Class 3A.
