  1. So how exactly is Jared up for ‘Athlete’ of the year when he only played one sport?
Correct me if I’m wrong but ‘athlete of the year’ implies they did, and excelled at more than one sport.

    • Can be one-sport or multi. Jay Borschel won the whole thing a few years ago as a one-sporter. Ali Stark was a one-sporter. What made both Uthoff and Stark special … they were the best in their sport in the one in which they competed.

  2. Great Selection of young men this year as always for athlete of the year. I’m not bios by any means, but watching Solon and that Loveless kid the last 4yrs, It wasn’t just football & baseball. He was a Finalist in all the Sprinting and relay events in track the last two yrs a state champion to boot. Nothing again anyone else but if the voting’s about what they have done for they schools as student athletes, he’s the best I’ve seen in recent yrs. Good luck to you all, we hope you all have great future’s no matter where you may end up…

  3. I would have to agree with bystander, i know a few other athletes that were the best in their sport and won a state championship like Macur Paige from Linn Mar and Matt Stocker from Prairie who won 2 state championships in two different sports. To me the Male Athlete of the Year has to go to someone that excelled in 2 different sports. Otherwise you should take the best athlete from each sport and nominate them.
