GRUNDY CENTER – NU High hit the postseason trail running Tuesday.
The Panthers got the jump on Grundy Center early and cruised to a 10-0, five-inning victory in a Class 1A first-round district baseball game.
The Panthers (24-5) scored eight times in the first two innings, and winning pitcher Kyle Denning struck out 10. NU advanced to face North Tama, a 5-0 winner over Green Mountain-Garwin in the night’s first contest, Thursday in Grundy Center in a 7 p.m. district final.
