Boys’ basketball Super Ten

Last one this season. Cedar Rapids Washington moves up to No. 2 because it swept No. 3 Cedar Rapids Jefferson and No. 4 Cedar Rapids Kennedy.

Someone asked me last week why no small schools in the Super Ten. It’s simple score comparing and simple common sense (at least what I think is my common sense).

Marion, for instance, was pounded by both Jefferson and Kennedy this season. And do you really think an Iowa Mennonite or a Keota could beat a Mississippi Valley Conference team, even an average one? Maybe they could, but i don’t think so.

So here we go with the poll:

OVERALL             Team W-L Pvs
—- 1. Linn-Mar 18-1 1
—- 2. Cedar Rapids Washington 10-8 4
—- 3. Cedar Rapids Jefferson 15-3 2
—- 4. Cedar Rapids Kennedy 12-6 3
—- 5. Marion 17-3 7
—- 6. Iowa City West 10-9 5
—- 7. Solon 17-2 8
—- 8. North Cedar 19-2 10
—- 9. Western Dubuque 13-5 9
—- 10. Cascade 18-2 —

Class 4A — 1. Linn-Mar, 2. Cedar Rapids Washington, 3. Cedar Rapids Jefferson, 4. Cedar Rapids Kennedy, 5. Iowa City West.

Class 3A — 1. Marion, 2. Western Dubuque, 3. Williamsburg (13-6), 4. Washington, Iowa (14-5), 5. Clear Creek-Amana (13-7).

Class 2A — 1. Solon, 2. North Cedar, 3. Cascade, 4. Mid-Prairie (15-5), 5. Iowa City Regina (15-5).

Class 1A — 1. Iowa Mennonite (20-2), 2. Keota (20-1), 3. HLV (14-7), 4. Montezuma (13-8), 5. North Tama (12-9).
