Former Cedar Rapids Prairie state medalist and University of Iowa wrestler Mike Hatcher has joined the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga wrestling staff as a volunteer assistant. According to the UT-Chattanooga website, the release was dated for Sept. 16.
Hatcher follows new head coach Heath Eslinger, who took over for Chris Bono who resigned to be an assistant at Iowa State. Hatcher was an assistant to Eslinger at Cleveland (Tenn.) High School the last two seasons and ran the Higher Calling Wrestling Club. Hatcher will assume duties to lead the Chattanooga Wrestling Club.
