MEXICO CITY – The competition didn’t provide much of a challenge for the USA Basketball 16-and-under girls’ national team last week.  The food did.
“(Food poisoning) kind of went through the whole team,” said Linn-Mar all-stater Kiah Stokes, a member of the 12-player squad that rolled to the gold medal of the FIBA Americas Championship at Mexico City.
“I think it hit me the worst. I had to sit out a game, then when I came back, I was weaker than I had been.”
