Cedar Rapids – Aplington-Parkersburg’s opening football game August 28th against Dike-New Hartford will be a very special night and now it will be even more special.
ESPN is going to broadcast game nationwide.  You will also be able to see it on KCRG-TV9 and the other ABC affiliates in the state of Iowa.
Details of the broadcast and kickoff times are still being worked out.
This will be A-P’s first game since head coach Ed Thomas was shot down this past June in the Falcon’s weight room.

Mount Vernon is down. Wapsie Valley is up.
Yeah, volleyball is going to be competitive in Class 2A this fall.
As the 2009 season approaches (practice is only five days away), there’s only one clear-cut favorite.
That would be Tripoli, which used a regional-semifinal upset of Wapsie Valley to vault to the Class 1A state title last year. The Panthers welcome back Megan Gilbert, and are a fairly solid pick to repeat.
The other three defending champs (Ankeny in 4A, Marion in 3A and Western Christian in 2A) have some holes to fill. Western always …
