Charles City’s offense had golden opportunities in each of the final four innings to  push the winning run across during Tuesday’s non-conference baseball game with Sumner-Fredericksburg.
Sumner-Fredericksburg had just two such opportunities to take the lead.

Shot a little bit of video of Cedar Rapids Xavier pitcher Jon Keller as he spun a two-hit shutout at Cedar Rapids Kennedy on Monday night. Keller threw regularly in the high-80s, with a high pitch of 91 miles per hour.
He’s considered one of Iowa’s top professional prospects out of the prep ranks for next season. He said Monday night he will join Cedar Rapids Washington senior Chad Christensen at the University of Nebraska in a couple of years.
