The 31st edition of the North/South All-Star wrestling meet brought with it an evening of exciting wrestling action at Comet Gym.

“There was some outstanding matches,” said Charles City head coach Dave Williams. “A lot of matches went down to the wire. The wrestling purist really liked watching some of the top wrestlers in the state come together and wrestle. It was just a real nice event. I was real happy with how they got matched up.”

Williams notes plans for the future of the annual meet, now being run by the Charles City Mat Club, include a date in the summer, with possibly tie-ins including a freestyle tournament, as well as to Party in the Park.

“We want to get more people involved, more people into the community and show them our community,” Williams said.
