CEDAR RAPIDS — The next chapter of the Christensen Civil War will have to wait.
Austin Christensen pitched six shutout innings in the quarterfinals Monday, then collected three hits in the semifinals as Cedar Rapids Kennedy reached the championship game of the Bob Vrbicek Metro Baseball Tournament.
“I’m thrilled to be 2-0 and in the championship game,” said Kennedy Coach Bret Hoyer.

Sarah Ryan went 3-for-3 with a single, a double, a triple, three RBI, and two runs. Karly Cochrane went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Micah Wieditz went 2-for-3 and on the defensive side threw out two runners attempting to steal. Emily Stoner got the win for the Mustangs.
