MARION — All-state basketball player Kiah Stokes of Linn-Mar has been invited to try out for the USA Basketball 16-and-under girls’ basketball team.
Tryouts will take place at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., in late May.

CEDAR RAPIDS — All projects at Kingston Stadium “are on or ahead of schedule,” according to Matt Dunbar, associate director of human resources for Cedar Rapids Community Schools.
“The projects need to be done by Aug. 2, and they’re all on target. Some will be completed early, barring any unforeseen delays,” Dunbar said.

Charles City’s Moriah Sherman has seen her golf game continue to improve over the course of the season.
Sherman’s solid play continued as she carded the Comets’ low round with a 47 and earned runner-up honors during Tuesday’s non-conference match with Clear Lake at Cedar Ridge Golf Course.
"It was a good job by Moriah," said Charles City coach Eric Johanningmeier. "She is working really hard and is playing well right now."
