CEDAR RAPIDS — Waterloo West edged Iowa City West by one stroke to win the Mississippi Valley Conference girls’ golf Super meet Monday at Airport National Golf Course.
Led by individual runner-up Sarah Boss, the Wahawks shot 305. The Women of Troy shot 306.
Alex Zenor of Cedar Rapids Kennedy shot an even-par 63. Zenor was 1-under through the front nine, then earned her even-par score by birdieing 18. Zenor beat Boss by three strokes for medalist honors. Kimmy Askelson of Cedar Rapids Xavier was third, shooting 70.

But, she figured after a visit to the University of Wisconsin last week, why wait?

MARION — Morgan Paige has committed to play women’s basketball at the University of Wisconsin. Her younger brother apparently is in no hurry to make a college decision.
“He going to wait until his junior year,” the siblings’ mother, Sherryl Gaffney-Paige, said Monday morning. “He’ll see where he fits in. He’s in no rush at all.”
