New lights will be installed at Kingston Stadium next week. (Photo by Jeff Linder)

The bleachers are ripped out from the stands. Tractors are running, and the lights (which will be more than twice as strong as the old ones) should be up sometime next week, according to school official Matt Dunbar.
Dunbar said everything is “pretty much on schedule.”

Continual improvement from the back half of the Comet tennis lineup has created a solid team from top to bottom. Charles City’s progress showed on the court during a Tuesday meet against Clear Lake at Sportsmen’s Park. The Comets toppled the Lions 7-2.
Charles City won five of six singles matches. It was an impressive achievement for the growing team, as coach Steve McGrew noted that Clear Lake has three solid players stacked at the top of its lineup.
