Mark Perry has been around college wrestling his entire life and knows how the things work. The former University of Iowa national champion and current Penn State University assistant wrestling coach knows his stint with the Nittany Lions could end with Friday’s hiring of former Iowa State Coach Cael Sanderson.

Track season is at last in full swing. After a few scattered (and COLD) meets, and of course the sprint to get Drake Relay qualifying times, teams are full on running a couple times a week.
**Congratulations to the Oriole 4×100 team of Mattea Otten, Sydney Vaugh, Sarah Thies and Brittany Clark for being Drake Qualifiers for the second year in a row. Way to go ladies!! **

For the second time, Iowa State University couldn’t retain one of the program’s best wrestlers to lead it to a national title.
Cael Sanderson, a four-time NCAA Champion who became the first undefeated college wrestler with a career mark of 159-0, accepted an offer to become the head wrestling coach at Penn State University, leaving the Cyclones after three seasons as their head coach. He replaces Troy Sunderland who resigned April 4 after 11 seasons as Nittany Lions head coach. Sanderson will be introduced at a press conference Monday.
