When Linn-Mar and Cedar Rapids Kennedy tip it off Tuesday night at Kennedy in a game that will determine Metro and Mississippi Valley Conference bragging rights, there will be intriguing individual match ups all over the floor.
Rebounding will play a big role in who wins this game and four of the best will be matched against one another. What follows is a link to an incredible piece that appeared in Sunday’s New York Times Sunday Magazine. It was written by “Moneyball” author Michael Lewis and focuses on the contributions NBA player Shane Battier makes to the Houston Rockets.

  The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks didn’t just shuffle their feet coming out of the gate this season, they basically fell flat on their faces.
  Mid-Prairie lost senior returning starter Collin Brenneman for the year when he broke his wrist in the season-opener against Washington, and the team struggled early with only two wins in its first six games. Three of those losses came in succession to ranked teams from Solon, Mount Pleasant and North Cedar.
