Tipton High School senior Missy Miller signed a national letter of intent today to compete in track and field at the University of Iowa.
Miller was a four-time state relay champion, earning a pair of gold medals in the 3,200-meter relay, one in the distance medley and one in the shuttle hurdle.
She was a 12-event state qualifier and 10-time state placewinner. She was a member of two state-title teams in track and two in cross country.

Four weeks to the day after she underwent surgery for a torn ACL, Missy Miller signed a national letter of intent to compete in women’s track and field at the University of Iowa.
“I absolutely love the coaches down there,” said Miller, a four-time state gold-medalist at Tipton High School. “I’m so excited they backed me up, even after the injury.”

The sophomore guard averaged 17 points and nearly three assists in three victories. TerHark scored 20 points, including six-of-12 from three point range and dished out seven assists in a victory over Hampton-Dumont. She also had 18 points and 10 assists in a win against Iowa Falls-Alden and finished the week 14-of-32 from behind the arc.

The IHSAA has posted play-in and first-round pairings for  its Class 2A and 1A district tournaments, which begin Feb. 16. A complete list of the pairings can be found at www.iahsaa.org under the basketball tab.
Since these tournaments are seeded, there are really no blockbuster matchups, although West Liberty at Tipton and Regina at Mid-Prairie should be competitive games in 2A District 9.
