“When they’re all ready to play, they’re unstoppable,” said Dennis Roloff, coach at Cedar Rapids Kennedy. “They have so many talented kids, and they all know their roles.

TROY MILLS — Successful is a drastic understatement when describing the seniors of North Linn’s wrestling team.
The numbers are astounding and outstanding during the group’s four years.
They have dominated Tri-Rivers Conference competition, boasting a 54-0 dual mark before last night’s quadrangular against North Cedar and conference foes Monticello and Springville. Those seniors have enjoyed an impressive 61-5 dual mark overall.
“They’ve set the standard for the last three years,” Lynx Coach Brad Bridgewater said. “To remain undefeated in the Tri-Rivers is a pretty big task.

Marion enters Saturday’s Wamac conference meet at Maquoketa with three legit title contenders. Austin Weisinger (125), Alex Conway (152) and Curtis Ette (160) have stood out for the Indians.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with how they’ve come along,” Marion Coach Bruce Weisinger said. “I’m certainly proud of what they’ve don so far, even the whole team has been a good group to work with.”

A pair of Eastern Iowan wrestlers have recently eclipse the 100-win mark.
North Linn’s Chris LeClere earned his 100th career victory with a pin over Cascade’s Alex Ries on Jan. 22. LeClere, top-ranked at 140 pounds, is 29-1 this season with 22 pins.
Jordan Kaiser, Benton Community’s sixth-rated 189-pounder, reached the 100-win milestone on Jan. 24 at East Buchanan’s Dave Steinkamp Duals. Kaiser, who placed eighth at state last year as a junior, is 30-4 with 19 pins.
