These were OK until Carl Broghammer had to win the Louisa-Muscatine tournament Saturday. Kaiser is locked in at #5, but here’s …

Casey DeHoedt became just the second Cedar Rapids Jefferson wrestler to earn Outstanding Wrestler honors at the school’s J-Hawk Invitational with his performance Saturday, Jan. 17.
DeHoedt won the 189-pound bracket, which consisted of six ranked wrestlers. DeHoedt, a senior ranked sixth in Class 3A, beat Fort Dodge’s No. 7 Tyler Wingerson, 9-5, in the finals to improve to 22-2. He advanced with a 3-2 quarterfinal win over No. 9 Theron Stewart and won by injury default in the semifinals over Benton Community’s Jordan Kaiser, ranked sixth in 2A.
Winners are selected …
